“prism” is a 2019 Pulitzer Prize—winning opera by Ellen Reid that explores the shattered pieces of a sexual-assault survivor’s world. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to work on the soundtrack package art for Decca Gold Records in conjunction with Ms. Reid.
Since the opera’s stage production featured a thematic use of flowers through all three acts, the creative brief called for incorporating the flowers into the cover art as well as the digital booklet. I came up with a few executions of the floral theme, then incorporated the selected direction into the booklet. A few of the alternate covers are also shown.
