AWAY, my debut as a filmmaker, is a short documentary that looks at NYC's surfing subculture through three female Rockaway Beach surfers. The film explores what it is to have a deep commitment and love of a sport, delving into the inherent challenges that surfing in NYC brings. The film was an official selection at 10 film festivals around the world and continues to screen at various surf and non-surf-related events.
